Damascus Steel Integral Bolster Chefs Knives
These knives were forged using a canister Damascus technique where offcuts from previous pattern welding projects are combined with powdered steel to form a billet from which knives can be forged. This technique is commonly referred to as “Fossil Damascus.” These were an attempt at getting better at making higher-end kitchen knives; the integral bolster, S-grind, and very thin cutting edges all add elements of challenge. But make the knives very light in the hand and cut extremely well. A video on the making of these knives can be found on the OHF YouTube channel.
